How to build a photo family tree
Four steps, no account, nothing uploaded. The live tool is right above — everything below happens in it.
Upload your photos
Drag in as many JPG or PNG photos as you like. Scans of old prints work exactly like phone pictures — nothing is uploaded, the files open straight from your device.
Say who each one is
Click a photo, type a name, add years or a note if you know them. The photo becomes a person card — faces first, dates filled in whenever you learn them.
Connect the family
Pick a relation — mother, father, spouse, child, sibling — and the card flies into place. Couples marry, generations link, and the layout draws itself.
Export and share
Download the finished tree as one high-resolution PNG — print-ready for the reunion wall, or small enough for the family group chat.
Who makes photo family trees?
Family historians
A shoebox of unlabeled prints is a mystery. Label each face once here and the relations stay mapped forever — for everyone who inherits the file.
Reunions & celebrations
Build a tree worth printing for the wall: grandparents at the top, the newest arrivals at the bottom, and everyone in between.
Parents & grandparents
Record who's who while there is still someone alive to ask. Future you — and your kids — won't have to guess.
Classrooms & projects
Heritage assignments without accounts or uploads. Works on school computers, and nothing about a student lands on a server.

The short version: it works like the demo above, it's free, and your photos stay on your machine.
Are my family photos safe here?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser — photos are stored only on your own device and never uploaded to any server.
Do I need an account?
No. The family tree maker opens straight on the page and your tree is saved automatically in your browser.
Can I add family members who have no photo?
Yes. Select a card and use the toolbar to add relatives — they appear with a name-initial placeholder.
How do I save or share my family tree?
Click Export PNG to download the finished tree as an image you can print or share.
Does it work without internet?
Yes — once the page has loaded, everything runs in your browser. You can switch off Wi-Fi and keep editing, autosaving and exporting; nothing you do touches a server. Only refreshing the page needs a connection, because the page itself comes from the web.
Every family has an album. Give yours a tree.
